Best non-OLED monitor you can get in Pakistan

I ordered this monitor a few months ago, this review is a bit late, but I've finally had time to collect all my thoughts. Starting from the delivery, I opted for COD which went smoothly, and the order arrived within 4 days IIRC. The box was not sealed and definitely took a beating but everything inside was fine. The moment you turn on this monitor, you notice something is different. The Xiaomi logo is illuminated bright against a pure black background, and it looks OLED-like.

The full-array local dimming prowess of MiniLED is nothing to scoff at and it makes a huge difference. Thanks to this, you get pure blacks most of the time with very-well controlled blooming. Xiaomi employs an aggressive algorithm to ensure this, which does mean a reduction in overall brightness and loss in detail in extreme edge-case scenarios, most of the time, however, it's completely fine.

There are 1,152 dimming zones here, which is plenty for a 27" panel, but it doesn't completely eliminate blooming. You will notice it a lot if you're looking for it. That being said, once HDR and local dimming is turned on, the zone transitions become a lot less abrupt, and I forgot about them pretty quickly. Same with the halos around bright objects in a dark scene, it's only going to bother you if your mind is conscious about it. Honestly, the natural blooming of my eyes (and I suspect a lot of others') is already high enough that it'll cover up the MiniLED blooming.

HDR on this monitor is phenomenal and better than most OLEDs due to its ABL (or lack thereof). Most OLEDs struggle to produce bright highlights outside of small windows, the bigger the window the more the ABL kicks in and you get a neutered HDR experience. Here, you'll get properly flashbanged with the full power of 1000 nits no matter the scene. You do need to make sure that the settings are right and that the content you're consuming is actually mastered for HDR. Otherwise, you can use Nvidia's RTX HDR to add true HDR to SDR content (games and movies alike) and it works like a charm, I keep it on all the time.

The colors are great since it has a quantum-dot layer as well but there is a noticeable red tint in HDR mode. Thankfully, it can easily be alleviated in Nvidia Control Panel with a few tweaks to the color channels. You get the 1.06 firmware here in Pakistan, so this is necessary, otherwise the newer models of this monitor have this fixed out of the box. There are plenty of posts on Reddit that can help you with this, or just contact me and I'll try to guide.

The monitor also supports VRR which is great, and it has decent response times for an IPS with local dimming, not the best. Once again. unless you're a super competitive gamer you will never even notice it. If it really gets on your nerves, you can always just switch off local dimming and this will become just as fast as any other 180hz IPS panel out there.

All in all, I'm super happy with my purchase and would recommend this monitor to literally everyone. There is nothing that comes close to this in this price bracket, please don't dismiss this just because it's "Xiaomi" and not some name brand. It's competing with OLED at 1/3 of the price locally and, for what it's worth, you do get a month of warranty if anything goes wrong. Oh, and did I mention it's built really well and has a kick-ass design, too? With a RGB ring at the back that can sync with whatever's being displayed on the screen in real-time!

Thanks for reading my review and if anyone wants to ask anything about this monitor, just DM me on Facebook (Huzaifa Haroon) or Instagram (pasta_pimpin).

Best Monitor in this price

Overall Good mini LED monitor, especially wrt price point of view. Totally recommended.
Image is stunning however HDR mode is slightly dim but still better than xiaomi other IPS displays.
It support PS5 with 1440p resolution at 120 fps with HDR and VRR on HDMI 2.0.
Slight image tearing can be oberseved while playing fast moving games at 1440p with HDR. However fine at 1080p. That could be because free sync not pro.
Also ambient light is very dim almost un noticeable.

Fine experience overall

Monitor arrived undamaged and in good condition but seals were not intact calling into question the reality of the monitor being new. Shipping was a bit slow but that's the courier companys fault. Overall, would recommend ordering as the monitor offers unmatched price to performance ratio
